How To Conceive A Child

It is quite natural for anybody to have the desire to have children because it is a heavenly experience to be a father or a mother. It does not require any explanation why anybody would like to have children. We are all familiar with how to conceive a child but often some people have the desire to have the child of a particular gender. You should not be surprised that it is now possible to conceive the child of your choice.

Here I will explain how you can conceive a girl if you know when you are going to ovulate. You have multiple options to determine when you will ovulate and one of the easiest ways to predict ovulation is to use an ovulation predictor.

It is common knowledge that the male partner decides the gender of the baby you conceive. The sperms contributed by men are of two types and they decide whether the fertilized egg will develop into a male or a female child. If it is a female producing sperm, it waits for a few days for the release of egg. On the other hand, the male producing sperms do not last long. That is why you would like to mate with your husband between 3 and 5 days before the release of the egg if you want to conceive a girl child.

The chances of the egg fertilized by either a male sperm or a female sperm is greatly determined by the vaginal acidity. Usually the male sperms die in as acidic medium and the female sperms can survive such a medium and then ultimately fertilize the egg. A pH test strip can determine the acidity and a douche can be used to increase the level of acidity.

Another important factor is the speed with which the male sperms and the female sperms travel in the genital tract. The male sperms run fast but they cannot do it for a long period of time. On the other hand, the female sperms run slow but they can do it for a long period of time. If you want to conceive a girl then make sure your partner does not ejaculate deeply. That will prevent the male sperms to reach the egg.

With the correct knowledge and execution you can easily conceive a girl with certainty. As long as you follow the above tips, you will succeed in conceiving a baby girl. Although there are little chances that even after all these efforts, you can still conceive a boy. Your chances of success will be higher if you understand the details of all the principles explained above.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How does a woman prepare herself for conceiving a child?
My husband and I are trying to start a family. We have been together since 2002 and married for almost two years. We have never used protection and we never conceived. Just to let you in on a little bit more information, I had a miscarriage back in June of 2001. Could my filopian tubes be blocked? Can I have children since I never went back and got a DNC done? Could it even be me or could it be my husband? What could be the problem? How can we prepare ourselves to conceive children? If we can’t, where do we go from here?

    • ANSWER:
sweetie you need a check up and tell the Dr everything so they can run some blood work on you and check your hormones and check the Hcg(to make sure from the miscarriage that it went to neg) and they will get it figured out for you.And if nothing comes up on you they will test your husband out(because yes it can be him) i wish you all the very best and good luck

  2. QUESTION:
Q for biological parents and those wishing to conceive children?
Given humanity’s state of overpopulation and the noticeable strain every new person puts on the planet’s resources, have you considered adoption as a more responsible (biologically, and socially) decision?

How does creating a new human benefit mankind, and the rest of the life that inhabits the planet? An impoverished child would directly benefit from your adoption.

(Before anyone asks; no, I do not approve of abortion. I believe that we should be more responsible as a species, but I do not approve of destroying sentient life unnecessarily.)
Are you seriously going to tell me that humankind hasn’t been a scourge to the planet, and making more humans won’t exacerbate the problem? As it stands now, every person accounts for a significant amount of non biodegradable waste in their lifetime–waste that is inherited by future generations of humans and nonhumans alike.

I don’t recall suggesting mandatory sterilization. I simply asked if you considered a sense of personal responsibility for a socio-biological problem.

You CAN bypass adoption agencies. You can buy children out of fcking slavery for a measly few hundred dollars. I guess adopting a 5 year old who’s had an already traumatic life doesn’t match up with your idea of parenthood, though. God forbid parenting be about the children, rather than the parents.

    • ANSWER:
I have one biological child but both my husband and I have decided that if we want more, we will adopt an older child. It’s the right thing to do, especially since we have the room and the money. I really didn’t like being pregnant that much either and I’m getting older as it is. We’d basically be saving a life.

I don’t understand how someone can call themselves pro-life but have IVF where a majority of the embryos wont survive. Why not adopt a child that was not aborted, why not reinforce your personal beliefs by adopting a baby or older child?

  3. QUESTION:
You’ve read it and say you believe, how was it possible to conceive child in a woman who never knew a man?
    Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

If you are going to be a teachers that it did happen, now are responsible for knowing how, son that gainsayer are put to silence.

Many, many People, both believers and unbelievers do not believe this happened.

    They can quote these scriptures:

    Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

    Matthew 1:22
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

But they still have no understanding how this was possible, what exactly did God do to bring this about?

They will tell you these words: ” God said it, I believe it and that settles it ” and that sounds good but it is as far from God’s way as is heaven from the earth.

    1 Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

If you can believe God formed a man from the dust of the ground and you can not deny he is made of DUST, and there wasn’t another man involved between God and the earth or MOTHER earth, then, how did God do this here, how did he do that there?
I know I missed spelled and left out a few words, just get the point and answer if you can.

    • ANSWER:
god created the sperm to make mary with child

  5. QUESTION:
How long do I have to wait after the Depo Provera shot wears off, to have periods OR conceive children?
I haven’t had a period in over 6months. Will i ever become pregnant?

    • ANSWER:
I was on Depo for 9 years. When we decided to go ahead and try for a baby, I talked to my doctor, and she put me on the pill for 6 months to regulate my periods. (I actually only took it for about 5 – just got fed up and stopped before the last pack was out.) I’m now 15 weeks along with my first baby. We were lucky and concieved in my second cycle in coming off of the pill (I did have some weird cycles – first 25 day and the next was a 40 day), but I took my temp and did charting just because I had heard that it can take so long.

Another friend of mine was also on Depo and she has two kids (being on Depo before the first and in between the two). It took her 7 months the first time, and she didn’t go on the pill when coming off the way I did. I don’t know how long it took for the second baby, but the kids are 2 1/2 years apart.

I have heard that a lot of people do have problems, though – I would say Depo is good if you are okay with delaying having kids, but the pill is much better if you want to be able to get pregnant right away when you come off – though the pill pack insert says it may delay a return to fertility for 1-2 months as well.

  6. QUESTION:
Is it possible to test if a female is able to conceive children? How?
What kind of procedure is it? and does it cost a lot?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
There are a variety of tests done to check to see if a woman is able to conceive. Conception is much more complicated on the woman’s end.

      Some basic tests are:
      1. FSH – follicle stimulating hormone blood test done around cycle day 3 to see if you have good quality and quanitity of eggs.

      2) Progesterone – blood test around cycle day 21 to check to see that you are ovulating and that your progesterone levels are sufficient to support a pregnancy.

      3) TSH – checks to see that your thryroid is working properly – also done as a blood test.

      4) HSG – this test involves injecting dye into your fallopian tubes and then taking x-rays to check for blockages.

      5) Some women also get ultrasounds to check the ovaries to make sure there are no cysts.

      6) Some women have laproscopic surgery to get a better look at the cysts / ovaries / tubes to search for damage and potentially remove some of it.

As to what you would need done, a doctor will be able to advise you . . . the cost is anywhere from several hundred to thousands of dollars depending on what you have done and whether or not your insurance will cover any of it.

      Hope this helps!

  7. QUESTION:
How long did it take you to conceive each child?
I conceived my first child in the first month.

I doubt I will be so lucky next time – how long did it take to conceive your babies? Was there a big difference between conception duration from child to child?

    • ANSWER:
Everyone is different. I have been trying with my husband for almost 5 years. I finally found Vitex an herb to help regulate a woman’s cycle and I started taking it about 1 week before I was supposed to ovulate. I am now 10 weeks and 2 days preggo. It worked the first time I tried it. If you are having difficulties ttc it doesn’t hurt to try. Its from the Chaste Tree. You can find it at any vitamin store. I bought my bottle for 4.50 (much cheaper than all other treatments out there that are not natural).

      Good luck

  8. QUESTION:
If phelopeon tubes of a women got infected due to tuberclause and not able to conceive a child, how she can?
What is the remedy for such a women if she is quite normal to conceive a child except her damaged phelopeon tubes not supporting the process of giving a birth to a child. What is the safe step and best effort she can opt for conceiving a child.

    • ANSWER:
If you are asking what options a woman has to conceive if the only problem she has is defective fallopian tubes…then the answer is IVF, in vitro fertilization. It’s expensive but pretty much the last option for a woman to have her own child. Good luck.

  9. QUESTION:
How long does it take to conceive a child after intercourse?
I am 38 weeks and trying to prove to the father that the baby is his. But i don’t know how long it takes to actually conceive after intercourse.

    • ANSWER:
Once the woman’s body releases an egg (ovulation), it will live for 24-48 hours, and must be fertilized during this time for pregnancy to occur. However, sperm can live in a woman’s body for up to 5-7 days, so you can technically become pregnant if you have sex up to 1 week prior to ovulation. If you know the date of ovulation, anyone you slept with up to 1 week prior and for several days afterward could be the father of the baby. If you don’t know the date of ovulation, anyone you slept with since the first day of your last period could be the father. If there is any doubt about the paternity of the child, the only way to prove it is a DNA test.

BTW, Once conception occurs, it will take an additional 6-10 days for the fertilized egg to travel to the uterus and implant itself in the lining, thus establishing pregnancy.

  10. QUESTION:
What is the best position to conceive a child for a woman with a retroverted uterus?
My husband and I got married last year and we already wanted to have a child since I’m already 29 years old and he’s 27. My husband loves kids and I don’t want to put him down. How often should we have sex? Pls help!

    • ANSWER:
You should track your ovulation and then do it every other day during fertile days it will help to keep the sperm count up.
      Go to www.fertilityfriend.com
This will help you track! Good Luck!

  11. QUESTION:
How to determine dates for mating to conceive a child?
Wife and I are yet to have a child. How to calculate the date for mating to have conception naturally.

    • ANSWER:
She needs to find out when she ovulates. Ovulation predictors are ok for giving a heads up (but they can be difficult to use for some women as it may require several tests a day to find the hormonal surge for many days on end). I would also suggest she does BBT charting. This will tell the actual day of ovulation, however not until 3 days after O. There are a couple of natural ways of indicating fertility as well. These would include tracking cervical mucous (or ‘discharge’) and checking cervical position/texture. BBT charting and tracking CM and CP can all be explained in great detail at www.fertilityfriend.com via the ‘online handbook’. They also have an email charting course which is great and free to use! Good luck

  12. QUESTION:
How soon after one child is the minimum possible time to conceive another child?
I wish to have a large family but I do not want the first child to be so much older then the last child

What is the minimum safe time to wait between pregnancies?

    • ANSWER:

  13. QUESTION:
How long did it take to conceive 2nd child?
My daughter is 5 months old and it took 1 year of trying to conceive her.
I would like to have a 3 year gap between my 1st and 2nd, when do you think I should start trying for baby #2?

    • ANSWER:
It took us no time at all, conceived on first try for the second baby. (We were trying to time it for the end of the school year, since I’m a teacher). Our older daughter will be 2 1/2 when this one is born in June. I’d say when your dd is turning 2 or a little after, start trying. That way you have a little leeway if you have trouble conceiving for some reason.

(I also tracked my basal temp – it’s really easy – if you want to pinpoint your ovulation etc. it can be very helpful. Also used ovulation predictor kits as backup.)

  14. QUESTION:
Should there be a form of licence to conceive a child?
Should people undergo a series of assessments or trials to qualify for a licence to conceive? Doing so wouldn’t neccessarily be an infringement of human rights, for I’m not suggesting that the conception of a child be denied indefinitely to any, but until a would be parent can prove that they are in a position to bring up a child responsibly and above all to convey to their child what it means to respect others with decency and courtesy and above all to respect themselves. We know that many people couldn’t care less how or why a child is brought into the world. Ultimately this question stems from another relating to crime, and anti-social behaviour. Children who develop anti-social tendancies are often born to those who are themselves disrespectful, and have no sense of moral value, though not exclusively.
Please read the question carefully. I would also like to make it clear that the trials and assesments of which I speak relate to an idividuals “moral fibre”.
Thanks for your comments, having read them I would like to point out, that my question is not about population control , nor should human rights come into it, again read the reasoning behind the question. The question does not deny the right to conceive, the right to do so is there in front of you, on the top shelf, all you have to do is reach out for it. If you want it enough, you will do what it takes. In fact it would probably act as an incentive to those who this question is really aimed. And the argument of “governmental control”, again it’s not about that either. It’s about reintroducing the knowledge of what’s right and wrong, dency and respect all of which should make up the moral backbone of society.
Remember of course this is a hypothetical question.

    • ANSWER:
Great idea in theory but impossible to put this into practice

  15. QUESTION:
My husband refuses to conceive a child with me?
It’s so frustrating! I want nothing more than to bring another bundle of joy into this world but my husband outright refuses. I have a 12-year-old daughter from a previous marriage who is, by most standards, extremely unattractive.

He’s afraid that I’m going to give birth to another ugly child. I tried to convince him that most of her unattractive features (unibrow, sloping forehead, pug nose) are due to her father’s Scandinavian heritage but he simply won’t listen.

How can I force him to have a child with me?

    • ANSWER:
You are not going to be able to “force” your husband to have a child with you. This is something that should have been discussed before you were married. Unfortunately there’s really nothing that you can do about it now except for talking to him about how important it is to you to have another child. In my opinion, it is very childish for your husband to be acting this way. It’s possible he just doesn’t want children and is being a jerk and blaming it on your daughter’s looks. He sounds like a real tool to me.

  16. QUESTION:
Is it safe to conceive a child if husband is taking atenolol?

  17. QUESTION:
How long does it take to conceive a child after being on birth control?
I was on the Depo shot for a year, then I switched over to the Nuva ring, which I was only on for 3 months. I also had my period like I was suppose to during the ring-free week. I was wondering how long would it take to get pregnant after getting off all this.

    • ANSWER:
It varies from woman to woman. Most doctors recommend that you wait until you have a normal (without birth control) cycle for three months before trying to conceive. Most women conceive within a year of going off birth control.

  18. QUESTION:
How is it possible for 2 blue eyed parents to conceive a child with brown eyes?
Since both parents would have to give off the recessive gene for blue eyes.

This is what the Mendelian chart says, I really don’t know.

    • ANSWER:
Genetics is generally more complex than the Punnett squares we’re taught about in biology. Eye color is determined by a number of complexly interacting genes. Though it is rather uncommon, it is quite possibly for two blue eyed parents to have brown eyed offspring.

From what I remember, it is possible to have a weak form of the primary gene responsible for determining eye color. In such cases, a secondary (or even tertiary, etc.) gene can have a much stronger affect on the phenotypic result than in either of the parents, resulting in darker eye coloring.

  19. QUESTION:
How soon after you conceive a child can you take a pregnancy test?
No, I don’t think I’m pregnant. I can’t even have anymore kids (I already have four.) But this subject keeps coming up between me and my boyfriend. I am trying to settle an arguement from a long time ago. A while ago we didn’t use any protection. He bought me a regular home pregnancy test two weeks later. I wouldn’t take it until after my period was supposed to come. Because I knew it wouldn’t show up on the monitor. He thinks I had an alterior motive for not wanting to take the test at that time.

    • ANSWER:
      men are such morons!!!!
You usually can’t take a test until the first day of your missed period. any sooner you get false results. The only way to be 100% positive is to have a blood test through a doctor/clinic.

    • ANSWER:
I don’t think you will be able to do it naturally (the old fashioned way) but to me, even if they have to inject the sperm inside you through a tube (IUI), its still natural, its your egg, his sperm, just a different way of getting them together to make your precious baby, that’s all.

  25. QUESTION:
How is it possible for a female to conceive a child from another female?

    • ANSWER:
Like Sky said . . . one woman could go through an IVF cycle, have her egg retrieved and fertilized in a lab by a sperm donor. The egg can then be transferred to the uterus of another woman – it is not technically conception, though.

One woman would be biologically related to the child and the other woman would have the experience of carrying the child / going through pregnancy.

  29. QUESTION:
How high is the risk to conceive a child after a loss? Our fourth child died from an umbilical cord knot.?
There was a double knot in his umbilical cord. We were just wondering what the risk was of it happening again. My husband and I are pretty apprehensive about becoming pregnant again, and we don’t want to be caught off guard again.

    • ANSWER:
A knot in an umbilical cord is not common. It only happens 1% of the time so the chances of a repeat are mighty slim. That being said, pregnancy is always a chance…every pregnancy is different and there is no way to know how things will turn out. Unfortunately, life has no guarantees. If you want another baby, you just have to try to have faith that all will go well.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please don’t let this tragedy deprive you of another child if you both really want one.

We are really wanting a baby!! How long did it take for you to conceive?? We wanted that test to be positive so bad! =(

I know it’s difficult. :( Every negative is like a punch in the gut. My husband and I tried for more than a year. I can’t even remember how many pregnancy tests I took. All I can say is that it finally happened when we stopped stressing about it, when we stopped “trying.” We just figured that if it was meant to be, it would happen, and then it did! I wish you the very best. I know it’s not easy to stop worrying about it, but try and relax and just…..enjoy the process.

DO NOT LISTEN to those who tell you that its 14 days before or after your period. That is called the calendar or rhythm method and is not reliable at all. This is going to be long, but after tons of research and talking to docs, I will do my best to tell you how I know when its time.
      1. You should deffinately read the book “Taking Charge of your Fertility” by Toni Weschler. Its great and tells you EVERYTHING you will ever need to know about the topic, so you yourself understand the functions of your own body, since nobody else can really tell you about your body.
      2. You should be charting your bbt. Basal Body temp. You can use fertilityfriend.com americanbaby.com mymonthycycles.com or print your own charts from justmommies.com etc. It is very beneficial. You take your temperature every single morning at the same time, and mark it on the chart. The changes in temp tell you where you are in your cycle. You are in the 97′s before ovulation, and after ovulation you will see a temp rise into the 98′s. This is good because it tells you that you have ACTUALLY ovulated. Some women gear up for ovulation and it never really happens. It can also tell you if you have a medical problem preventing you from pregnancy, it will tell you if you have become pregnant already, and a doc would ask you to do this anyway.
      2. You should be checking your cervical fluid everyday around the same time per day. Cervical Fluid is your BIGGEST and number 1 clue to when you are ovulating. It tells you better than any test will. It goes like this
      Mensus
      Dry
      Sticky
      Creamy
      Watery
      Eggwhite
      Dry
When you see the creamy or watery, your approaching ovuation. When you see the eggwhite (it really looks and feels just like raw eggwhites) you are your MOST fertile and should be getting busy if you want to get pregnant.
      4. I personally take mucinex everyday starting cycle day 8. Robitussin works too. They both have the same active ingredient that you need, its just that mucinex doesnt taste bad since a pill. The ingredient you need it called Guaifenesin. Make sure that is the ONLY active ingredient. The mucinex comes in a green and white box and is about 10 dollars. Obviously you know that these products are to loosen up mucus in your body and therefore cause thinner more abundant mucus. This is the same for cervical fluid. It really works because I am using it. You have to have a lot of cervical fluid and sperm friendly fluid in order to conceive. Without this, its impossible. I have some, but could use more. Lots of women use this method and it really works to aid in conception. Read this site, it tells you all about it.

      http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/cm.html

Lastly, I do infact use ovulation strips. I do this just as an extra precaution to corrensponde with the rest of my signs.
I hope this helped. All of this is from the book taking charge of your fertilty, and it really does work. Women who have used this method swear by it.

Also, there is a conceiving plan called hte SPERM MEETS EGG PLAN. Most women who use this get pregnant on the first cycle, and it increases your chance of conception up to 65%. it goes like this.

      1. Get 10 opk (ovulation prediction strips)
      2. Use an OPK everyday starting cycle day 10
      3. Have intercourse every other day starting CD10.
      4. Keep hips elevated after baby dancing
      5. When you get a + opk, baby dance that day, the next day, and the day after.
      6. Skip the 4th day.
      7. have sex the fifth day
      8. Test on 15dpo.
Lots of women swear by this as well.

Good luck and much baby dust to you.
      .
Oh and I should probably add. cycle day one starts on the first day of your period. Regardless if it starts at night or in the day, thats cycle day on. DPO means day past ovulation, so say you ovulate on day 17. The next day is dpo 1, dpo 2, etc. Good luck

  37. QUESTION:
me and my boyfriend have been trying to conceive a child for the past 3 years. is the process that long?
we want a baby really badly.. im not sure how healthy u got to be but it seems it is not working no matter how much we try.

    • ANSWER:
“How healthy”? if either of you have serious medical conditions including smoking or obesity, they can definitely interfere with your ability to conceive. You don’t need to be a marathon runner or swimsuit model, but you do want to be in reasonably good health.

After 12 or more months of trying to conceive you should both investigate with your doctors.

  38. QUESTION:
Had CT Scan with contrast and trying to conceive!! Help!?
So my fiance and I are trying to conceive child number 2 and yesterday I had a ct scan with contrast to rule out appendicitis. I am halfway through my cycle. If I did become pregnant how at risk is the baby? If any?

    • ANSWER:
Before you have a CT one of the questions asked is “Is there a possibility you could be pregnant?” When they did you should have said something. There also should have been signs displayed. If they didn’t ask you they didn’t do their job. The type of CT depends because it uses different amounts of radiation. 41. QUESTION:
    how can i conceive a child ?
i have been haveing trouble with my hormones and now my period has come but only spotting right now.. i need to know when the best time to start maken love to try and conceive PLEASE>>>>me and my husband really tring to have a baby…we have been to the doctor and they said i could have a baby but i tried some of the stuff they gave me and advise but they didnt work..i also need tips of certian things to try ..

    • ANSWER:
There are the usual tips given when trying to conceive:
      1. Do limit movement after intercourse. Stay lying down with a pillow under your hips for a half hour.

      2. Do try to make sex enjoyable. More enjoyable sex means higher sperm count and better “swimmers”.

      3. Limit intercourse and male m@s turbation prior to the days you are trying to conceive.

      4. Take vitamins. Folic acid and other vitamins are very important.

      5. Don’t drink alcohol or use drugs at the time of conception. This applies to both of you. There is strong evidence that alcohol can effect your chances of getting pregnant.

      6. Don’t douche after having intercourse.

      7. Don’t have oral s*x prior to intercourse. There is some evidence that the bacteria in the mouth can cause damage to male sperm.

There are only a few true ways to determine ovulation:
      1. get a basal thermometer (bbt) and plot your temp daily
      2. there are OTC kits to check if you are ovulating
      3. check your vaginal mucus daily

      For the basal thermometer:
You take your temp daily…as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed. You take it for a full 5 minutes. The day your temp is the highest is the day of ovulation. For more info:

      http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/bbt-basal-body-temperature.html

      For mucus check:
At time of ovulation, mucus resembles egg whites: it will be thin, clear, generous in amount and stringy when pulled apart. To learn more about it:http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/cervical-mucus.html

The ways to improve sperm count:
      1. no tidy whiteys! wear only boxers
      2. if he has a job that requires a lot of sitting, take more breaks to stand up
      3. no alcohol
      4. no mastur bation
      5. avoid hot baths
      6. no smoking or recreational drugs
      7. take antii-oxident vitamins
      8. no caffeine
      9. save intercourse for the time of ovulation
      10. make love in the morning…more sperm is produced during the night and man’s sexual peak is in the morning

      Good luck!

  43. QUESTION:
Does is seem my husband wants a child now? (long)?
We have been married for three years, and I know he wants a child but we are on bc because his parent’s do not think it is the right time. (even if we were millionaires they would still never approve, I can see this but he doesn’t) (but that was when we were starting out and lived with him we have been living on our own for quiet a while now, and my husband is getting better and we finally make our own discussions without their opionion affecting in anyway, except for the baby issue)

But we both know for a fact when we do get pregnant, they will ask if we did this on purpose. And my husband simply can’t lie to his parents because of the way they act, he just really wants them to be proud and show that they love him, and this would make them act like morons. When we first got married the topic of children would only come up about once a month, but now it comes up about seven times a week.

Right before I met him, his truck was totaled and he went from a big truck to a Chrysler 300 because he said he had hopes of having a family and that seemed like a car good for kids because it has a huge back seat.

At night about twice a week he love to trace his fingers along my pelvis and say this is were my babies are going to be and lays his head there for a bit and smiles. About two to three times a week he says, “we’re not going to have any problem conceiving children are we?” Every time we make love (not sex, there is a mega difference and we both know it) he say that he doesn’t care if I get pregnant, or he wishes I would right this moment as if he wants that instance to be when I conceive.

I have noticed out of the few times I do screw up on my birth control pills (that he knows of), he puts a hell of a lot more into it. Sometimes when I know for a fact set my cell phone alarm for bc, it sometimes doesn’t go off and I notice an hour later and I look at my phone and it says the alarm was disabled. So I kinda suspect he turns it off, but I don’t know if I should say something…

He will occasionally ask me parenting questions, I would say this happens like once or twice in a month and we have most major decisions decided as in breastfeeding and nursery and etc. When I ask him if he wants kids he says he does but then his shoulders go down and say we shouldn’t because it isn’t the best financial time (word for word what his parent’s say but he demeanor changes when he says it, like a child when they let go of their balloon and it flies away)

Do you feel like he secretly wants me to screw up on my birth control so he wouldn’t have to lie to his parents. They wouldn’t get mad if it was an accident and I was on birth control. I feel like this is the case, but I want some opinions. Oh and he asks every once in a while if I think he would be a good father, and we will be doing something completely unrelated to children.

And I implore they do not make our decisions, for anything, but this is a touchy subject with him and his parents, and it is he is scared of losing his parent’s over this, believe me it would be something he would lose his parents too unless it was a… mistake. So do you think he really wants to have a child now, or he is just excited for the future?

As for me I have baby fever and am very excited, but I can wait it out, if it is for the best… but I don’t want to wait because of how ridiculous his parent’s react to anything, and his deep fear of lying to them, the man just can’t do it.

    • ANSWER:
      I am slightly confused.
His parents are against you planning to have children and he want you to get pregnant ‘accidently on purpose’ so he can tell his parents it was an accident rather than planned?

If that is the case you need to do two things,
Tell your husband to grow a pair and not to let his parents control him.
You can only have children when you are both ready to do it and not under the circumstances that someone else dictates.

Him messing around with your birth control is inexcusable, period.
It does sound like he wants a child now, how could you be in any doubt?
Be tough, don’t let your in laws influence how you go about things with your husband and your reproductive organs. It’s not their choice to make.

  44. QUESTION:
how often should you have sex if you want to conceive a child?

    • ANSWER:

  45. QUESTION:
How would you explain to a child conceived in a rape who his father is?
Say a guy rapes a woman, and she is impregnated and decides to keep it. How do you think the mother should explain to the child once he/she starts asking questions?

    • ANSWER:
Excellent question…Fatherhood is not determined by sperm donation. Fatherhood is defined by actions. A rapist is neither a father nor a man. My first hope is that the scum bags was incarcerated for his crime and forced to give up all parental rights to that child. Second I would hope that the women either marries a man or allows the child to have a father figure relationship with a family relative or a close family friend.

With that said because there is no easy way to explain the situation when the child is mature enough to handle the truth the mother should tell that child the truth about her father. The mother should explain that the biology through very important is not more important than parental role that a father plays in a child’s life. At the end of the day what matters the most is the man that stepped and said “even though this child is not my own I will love them and be there for and raise them as my own”.

To be born all children need a sperm donor. To be well adjusted adults children need a father as just as much as a mother. The evidence of the difficulties children and adults go though when a father is absent is overwhelming. It’s overwhelming so much so that it’s a social epidemic. So again fatherhood is not determined by sperm donation.

  46. QUESTION:
how do you know if you and your mate are compatible to conceive a child?

    • ANSWER:
Assuming both of you are fertile… Genetically speaking, it has been shown that your sense of smell can lead you to those who have compatible DNA. It is best to “mate” with someone with a DNA code that is as different from yours as possible in order to increase species diversity. You will actually find the scent of someone more stimulating if their DNA has a higher degree of difference from yours. If their DNA is too close to yours, you’ll find their scent unappealing. For example, no one finds their own scent appealing.

  47. QUESTION:
how can i conceive a child if my husband don’t understand how hard of work it is to get one?
my husband thinks one time and poof i’ll get pregnant. I tried to explain that it doesn’t work that way, but he doesn’t understand. Can anyone please give me some pointers of what i can do to get him to understand….. and i already tried “it didn’t take god one day to create every thing around us.”

    • ANSWER:
Take him to your OB-GYN or read a book together. After 2 yrs of trying, what finally worked for me was some advice I got from a friend. Lay on your back after sex and bicycle your legs in the air. I conceived the first time I tried that.

  48. QUESTION:
How would you feel if your wife could not have children?
Let’s say all the while you guys were dating, you talked about having kids, marriage and a home. Making all these plans and start to build your lives together (getting married and moving into a house), then one day find out she is not able to conceive children and carry them to term. How would feel? Would you leave her? Be crushed or relieved?

    • ANSWER:
You are a lucky man !

  49. QUESTION:
How much does it cost to adopt & what is a good adoption agency to go threw?
I have had 2 kidney transplants in my life & I am unable to conceive children & my boyfriend & I have talked about adoption when the time is right. I just need a little info.

    Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I think you need to concentrate on your own health and building the relationship you have with your boyfriend. What’s the hurry? There must be hundreds of things on your to-do list that you would want to get done before you had children, anyway.

And take some time to really face the grief of not being able to conceive. That’s a sad truth in your life, and needs to be acknowledged. Just like the kidney transplants. Your life is taking a different path than the norm. That’s OK. You don’t have to do everything exactly like everyone else.

  50. QUESTION:
I think its impossible to really know your heritage?
How does anyone really know their heritage? For example, I think people assume that because they have an Italian last name that they are of mostly Italian ancestry. So if they did have an Italian ancestor, they most likely could have intermarried with someone like an English person, the conceived child could have intermarried with a Jew, and that child could have had a child with a Irish person. So eventually the Italian blood would be replaced by other European blood, but the last born child would still have the Italian surname, and would still look European. And also how do you explain how so many African-Americans have European names, but they are black? What do you think?

    • ANSWER:
I think you don’t hang out here too much. What you are saying, is almost exactly what most of the experienced researchers explain, several times a day. New researchers do assume exactly that. And they are told (as friendly as possible) that surnames and genealogy are apples and oranges.
It is also widely known that many of the African American families, with Southern US history, did in fact take surnames from the families that owned them. Thus the European name becomes theirs, but it is not their lineage.
Many, if not most, of the questions in this area, are from persons just getting started in research. Which is not a big deal to me… I enjoy explaining some of the general “how to’s”, and where they CAN research their real heritage. Impossible?? Not at all!! Hang out some more, and we’ll help you get started, if you like.
